Why is my account blocked?

Quick answer: Accounts are usually blocked for Terms of Service violations, safety concerns, or signing in from outside a supported country.

  • Harassment, spam, or inappropriate content violates our Terms of Service.
  • Fake or duplicate profiles, and suspicious or fraudulent activity.
  • Multiple reports from other members.
  • Signing in from outside the United States, Canada, Australia, or a US territory can block or flag an account, and a VPN can do the same.
  • Had a paid subscription? See What happens to my subscription if my account is blocked.

If your Zoosk account has been blocked, it is usually because of a violation of our Terms of Service or a safety and security concern. Here is what you need to know.

Common reasons an account is blocked

  • Violating our Terms of Service, including harassment, spam, or inappropriate content
  • Creating a fake or duplicate profile
  • Suspicious or fraudulent activity on the account
  • Multiple reports from other members
  • Signing in from a location outside of our supported countries

Signing in from an unsupported location

Zoosk is currently available in the United States, Canada, Australia, and US territories. Signing in from anywhere else can block or flag your account as a security precaution, because access from an unexpected country is also what a compromised account looks like.

A VPN has the same effect. If your VPN server is outside those locations, Zoosk sees an unsupported country even when you are sitting at home. Turn your VPN off before signing in.

If you are traveling somewhere Zoosk is not available, you may not be able to sign in until you are back.

If you have a paid subscription

Being blocked changes what happens to your subscription, and what you need to do depends on where you bought it. See What happens to my subscription if my account is blocked.

How to resolve it

If you have already emailed us, or received a reply from our team, simply reply to that email. There is no need to send a new message or start a new request — your reply goes straight to the same team, and starting over can slow things down.

If you have not contacted us yet and believe your account was blocked in error, please contact Zoosk Customer Support and we will be happy to look into it. If you were traveling, tell us the dates and the country you were in — that context helps us resolve it quickly.
