How does matching work?
Quick answer: Zoosk suggests members using your profile information, match preferences, shared interests and compatibility indicators once your profile is complete.
- Complete your profile and add photos for better recommendations.
- Adjust Search filters to change which profiles appear.
- Toggle Card view or Grid view on Search.
- Browse Carousel for members outside your selected filters.
- Inactive profiles may be filtered from your recommendations.
Update your Filters on the Search page to change the profiles shown.
Once you've completed your profile, Zoosk begins suggesting members based on your profile information, preferences, and compatibility factors. The more complete your profile is, the better we can recommend potential matches.

Ways to discover matches
Zoosk offers different ways to discover potential matches.
Search
The profiles you see in Search are based on the filters and preferences you've selected. Adjusting your filters will change the profiles shown in your results.
Choosing your Search view: Card view and Grid view [NEW]
On the Search page, you can choose how your suggestions are displayed using the view toggle at the top of the page:
- Card view is the familiar layout you're used to, showing one member at a time as a large card.
- Grid view is a newer layout that shows more members at once. Each tile displays the member's main photo, name, and age — and, in some cases, a few of their interests — giving you a quick glimpse of your suggestions.
In Grid view, scroll down to see more members, and select any photo to open that member's full profile. You can switch between Card view and Grid view at any time, and your Filters remain available in both.
Switching views changes how your suggestions are displayed, not who is suggested. Grid view can also widen the lens a little — helping you discover great connections you might otherwise have missed.
Carousel
The profiles shown in Carousel may not always match your selected filters exactly. Carousel is designed to introduce you to a wider variety of potential matches, including members who may fall just outside your preferences.
Sometimes a great connection can come from someone you might not have otherwise discovered, so Carousel helps you explore additional match opportunities beyond your search criteria.
